Coping with the COVID-19 Pandemic

The World Health Organization (WHO) provides the following coping measures to deal with stress during the COVID-19 Pandemic:

  • Talking to people you trust can help if you are feeling sad, stressed, confused, scared or angry.
  • Maintain a healthy lifestyle if you are required to stay at home. Remember to care for yourself with:
    • A proper diet
    • Plenty of sleep
    • Exercise
    • Social contact with loved ones at home, and
    • Social contact by email and phone with other family, friends and co-workers

A few more coping tips to help with this challenging time:

  • Avoid smoking, alcohol or drugs to deal with your emotions
  • Talk to a healthcare worker or counsellor if you feel overwhelmed
  • Contact your Human Resources Department for any Health and Wellness support programs available to employees
